Monthly Federal Funding Briefing Meetings and Newsletter

Federal funding for water conservation and habitat restoration is in flux—but staying informed is critical. The Network offers monthly briefings and a newsletter to keep partners up to date on funding changes, opportunities, and strategies for impact.

The status and future of federal funding for water conservation and aquatic habitat restoration have become deeply uncertain. Despite this uncertainty, the scale and complexity of the water-related challenges facing the Rio Grande require federal funding and partnerships. The Network, to keep watershed organizations and conservation partners abreast of the rapidly changing federal funding landscape, hosts monthly federal funding briefings to share key updates on the public funding landscape. Briefings cover the status of current federal funding pauses and releases, executive orders and lawsuits concerning federal funding, regulatory and administrative policy shifts, and relevant state-level responses. These monthly briefings also include opportunities for participants to share any current challenges or successes regarding accessing and utilizing federal funding to support aquatic restoration and conservation efforts.

In addition to the monthly briefings, the Network shares a monthly newsletter with information on major developments affecting federal funding, a spotlight on available public funding opportunities, and links to additional resources such as training opportunities.
